I had a very hard time rating this place, because it's great and not so great at the same time. Let's start with the pros... Location is fantastic, you are right in old Santa Fe with an easy walk to anything. Parking is taken care of free. The place is bright, modern and pretty. The linens are nice. Now the cons... The bathroom is weird and it feels like you're in a glass fishbowl (because you're in a glass fishbowl) and you have zero privacy. Although the hotel itself is bright, the room is dark with small windows. There is an outside door, but you can't go anywhere or sit or relax. There are no good common spaces to relax outside your room. And there is no pool or other distractions of any kind. If they added an outdoor congregation area, added some indoor seating (maybe upstairs by the balcony), and fixed that glass bathroom problem, this would be a five all day long.

I am from New Orleans and I recently stayed at The Palace Modern Hotel to visit friends and it was awesome. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was struck by the perfect blend of modern luxury and the rich, earthy charm that Santa Fe is known for. The hotel’s design is sleek and contemporary, yet it effortlessly incorporates elements of Southwestern style, creating an ambiance that is both inviting and unique. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated with local art and high-end finishes. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I also appreciated the hotel’s central location, making it easy to explore Santa Fe’s historic downtown and vibrant arts district. Whether you’re visiting Santa Fe for business or pleasure, The Palace Modern Hotel is the perfect place to stay. I can’t wait to return!

Palace Modern is an oasis in the historic district of Santa Fe on a trendy street steps from the famous Plaza. The boutique hotel is housed in a lovely old building that has been thoughtfully renovated. The guest rooms have a modern design touch, hence the name, with a strong focus on luxury. Every amenity is top of the line and every wish has been granted. The rooms are truly beautiful and oh-so-comfortable. There’s a fabulous gallery in the hotel where items seen in the rooms, along with artwork, can be purchased. The halls are lined with old photos chronicling the interesting history of the building and the area. The entire experience of this hotel is a treat. It’s a gem you won’t want to miss. I can’t wait to go back!

Room 7 was very nice. Close to everything and very convenient to check in and out. As others have mentioned, the glassed in bathroom is a little strange, but not a deal breaker. We had trouble sleeping, because the bed only had a heavy down comforter. So we would wake up hot then wake up cold. However, I did not contact the management for a lighter blanket. So I would chalk this one up to me. My real problem came with the bill. I had noticed a charge on my CC several days before we arrived. I contacted the management and I was told that it was a hold for amenities and would roll off. I then was not too concerned about the final bill including an amenities charge, of $35/day. So when I checked my CC bill at the end of the month, I was told it was a charge for amenities, but I got no answer as to what those amenities were. We used the shower gel, made coffee every morning in the room, and got filtered water from the amenities room. I guess the most interesting thing was that the amenities charge was essentially the Winter discount. I am sure it was a communication issue, and not intentional. However, for me personally, I would have preferred a price that did not appear to change. In the original booking process, I do not remember a amenities fee being mentioned. In all hotels we have stayed at over the years, if we did not use the bottled water, or eat the snacks in the room, or use anything from the mini fridge, the amenities fee was refunded. The first charge I had contacted management about did roll off, but not the final charge on the bill. Overall, location was great, room was comfortable, management was very responsive. I will stay again, but will get clarification on amenities charge. Thanks

We stayed here for Valentines day and loved it. The location is amazing and I loved the modern and calming design. I love the fact that you don't need to check in/out at a front desk. We got a slightly larger room and had no issues. I also appreciate that the hotel front door is locked. Everything is very walkable. The art exhibit inside is a nice touch. The only downside to staying here is that the parking garage is a block away.

This a very unique and modern place to stay. Has a boutique type feeling to it. They have incorporated a contactless check-in but were extremely accessible and attentive via text/call. They provide extra towels, toilet paper, coffee, and other toiletries in a closet in the hall way for guests to help themselves to, as needed. During our visit, Santa Fe experienced a heavy rain storm that knocked out all power for almost 7 hrs. The owner, Jim, showed up on scene to provide flashlights and cordless lights to guests and the manager, Jen, communicated with us through our check in when the entry codes weren’t working. There is a coffee shop, sushi restaurant and art gallery in the lobby of the hotel building. We felt extremely safe and the stay in the room was comfortable. The hotel one block from The Plaza and has free covered parking. We will definitely stay here during our next visit to Santa Fe and highly recommend this hotel to others.

We're in love! The Palace Modern Hotel was such a great choice for our trip to Santa Fe. This "boutique" style hotel is AMAZING! My husband and I have put it as our top choice for our next trip. (We also want to buy the same mattress and pillows for our home!) The bathroom amenities were top of the line, great shower, and two TVs - one in the king bedroom and one in living room. The furniture and decor is exquisite and one of the best things is that PM is located just steps from the Santa Fe Plaza. We had never stayed in an "invisible service" hotel, but we will from now on. No need to stop at the front desk - you get online check-in, great WiFi, coffee in your room, extra amenities if needed; yet, you can text/call hotel staff with any questions. LOVED IT!

Love. Love. Love. We stayed in #6, a king room with a suite, and absolutely adored the spot. Connected to a GORGEOUS gallery, even though it has “invisible” service, the team at Palace Modern truly thought of everything. This is just a two minute walk from the Plaza, connected to a coffee shop and a sushi restaurant (and another one I cannot remember). Free parking comes with your unit and the rooms are spacious and SUPER CLEAN. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and the pillows are some of the best I’ve ever rested with. We are so glad we booked at this TRULY boutique hotel. It’s decorated beautifully and is exceptionally clean. I’ll be recommending this hotel again and again for any other visitors asking about where to stay in Santa Fe!
